I have been a hairdresser for nearly thirty years and worked with Bernard for three of them. He was simply, a favourite member of my “work” family. Taken far too soon. Heartfelt condolences to his family. xx

Alyy Lavinia O'Leary (Groethe)

So so sorry and sad – Bernard was a lovely man and a brilliant hairdresser! I enjoyed the times I spent in his hairdresser’s chair -putting the world to rights and seeing countless photos of the family he was so proud of. Tales of the trips you all went on. Each visit a pleasure and I will miss him. He adored his family and I feel for them now.

I had only known Bernard for four years. A great hairdresser and fun to spend time with in the salon. He talked with great love of his family. Such a lovely man.

I’m deeply sorry to hear about Bernard, who was my hairdresser for 33 years. I shall miss him very much. Who will I have to talk to about Montalbano now?

Rosemary Johnson

Bernard in the 12 years we worked together you taught me my hairdressing and got me through my apprenticeship, which i am so grateful for. You always stood up for us all and you was a friend. I have so many memories of you and most of them are funny ones. I will never forget your cheeky face, especially the cheeky smile you did after a little moan. I’ll be raising a glass of mulled wine to you on Tuesday 9th as it reminds me of you on xmas eve in the salon.
You have been taken far to soon and my thoughts are with your family.
You will never be forgotten.

Louise Symington ( Jones)

We first met when you rescued me from a ‘hair disaster’ and you never let me forget! Fast forward 28 years and we still laughed about that day and reminisced about life, It’s ups and downs, our families, food, football, travel and everything else in between. I came to value you not just as my hairdresser but as a dear friend and will miss you dreadfully. I felt I knew your family through you and extend my love and condolences to them all at this sad time.

My thoughts are with Bernards family. We first met at RAF Upper Heyford almost 50 years ago working for Andrea and Achille. We had so much fun! He was truly a most wonderful guy. I was saddened to hear of his passing through a mutual friend we also worked with all those years ago. Rest In Peace my friend x

John Bates, Malta

We will miss Bernard for his sense of humour and friendly nature. He was great to chat to and had us all in stitches sitting with him at competitions! He was so immensely proud of Sophia, Luca, Nico and Giano’s achievements and that was lovely to see. We are thinking of you all x

The Donohoe family

I hope you feel surrounded by much love. Your dad was a wonderful, kind man and a friend who we will miss. He always looked after us and made us smile.
Our sincere sympathies to you and your family.
